Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please review this page carefully before requesting deletion of your account.
Overview
At HandyHelpa, we respect your right to delete your account and remove your personal data from our systems. This page explains what happens when you delete your account, what data is removed, and how to initiate the deletion process.
How to Delete Your Account
You can request account deletion using any of the following methods:
Method 1: In-App Deletion
- Open the HandyHelpa app and log in to your account
- Go to Settings → Account Settings
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account
- Review the information about what will be deleted
- Confirm your decision by entering your password
- Tap Permanently Delete My Account
Method 2: Email Request
Send an email to privacy@handyhelpa.com with the following information:
- Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- Your registered email address
- Your account username or phone number
- Reason for deletion (optional)
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following information will be permanently removed from our systems:
Personal Information
Name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and other personal details
Account Data
Login credentials, preferences, settings, and saved information
Service Provider Profile
Your professional profile, service listings, portfolio images, and verification documents
Messages
All your sent and received messages within the app
Payment Information
Saved payment methods and billing addresses (transaction history may be retained for legal/tax purposes)
What We Retain
Certain information may be retained for legal, security, or operational reasons:
Transaction Records
Financial transaction history for tax, accounting, and legal compliance purposes (up to 7 years as required by law)
Anonymized Data
Aggregated and anonymized data for analytics and service improvement (this data cannot be used to identify you)
Reviews You Posted
Reviews may remain visible but will be shown as posted by "Deleted User" to maintain trust and transparency in our rating system
Legal Compliance Data
Information required for ongoing legal processes, fraud prevention, or regulatory compliance
Deletion Timeline
Immediate (Day 0)
Your account is deactivated and you will no longer be able to log in. Your profile becomes invisible to other users.
Grace Period (30 days)
Your account data is marked for deletion but can be recovered if you contact support within 30 days. This grace period allows you to change your mind.
Permanent Deletion (After 30 days)
All your personal data is permanently deleted from our active systems. Backup systems may take up to 90 days to complete deletion.
Before You Delete
Please consider the following before deleting your account:
- •Complete any pending bookings or service requests
- •Withdraw any remaining balance in your account
- •Download a copy of your data if needed (available in Settings → Privacy → Download My Data)
- •Cancel any active subscriptions or recurring services
- •Save important messages or contact information you may need
Alternatives to Deletion
If you're not ready to permanently delete your account, consider these options:
Deactivate Temporarily
Hide your profile and pause your account without losing your data. You can reactivate anytime.
Adjust Privacy Settings
Control what information is visible and how we use your data in your privacy settings.
Unsubscribe from Communications
Opt out of marketing emails and notifications without deleting your account.
Data Portability
Before deleting your account, you have the right to request a copy of your data. Go to Settings → Privacy → Download My Data to receive a comprehensive export of your information in a machine-readable format. This includes your profile information, transaction history, messages, and more.
